Three simple checks.

All you need is a metal tape measure.

  1. Step 1

    Check depth

    Front edge to glass or nearest obstruction. You need at least 1.2″ (3 cm) clear.

  2. Step 2

    Measure width

    Measure top, middle and bottom. Keep the smallest width.

  3. Step 3

    Measure height

    Top to the sill’s top surface: left, centre and right. Keep the smallest height.

A few quick answers.

What if I get my measurements wrong?

If a measuring mistake means your blind doesn’t fit, we’ll remake it once for free.

How much depth does my window need?

At least 1.2″ (3 cm) of clear depth. Measure from the front of the recess to the glass or nearest obstruction. Handles and locks affect depth, not your width or height.

What if my window isn’t perfectly square?

Measure width at the top, middle and bottom. Measure height on the left, centre and right, down to the top of the sill. Use the smallest width and smallest height.

Should I subtract anything?

No. Send your measurements as measured; we make the deductions. For inches, record to the nearest 1/16″.

Do I need to measure every window?

Yes. Even windows that look identical can differ, so measure each one separately.
